This holiday season, we want to express our heartfelt gratitude. At Schneider Tree Care, we take this opportunity to reflect on this past year and acknowledge the contributions of our valued team members in caring for people and plants throughout 2022.

It takes just one positive memory to act as a catalyst for a company to stay motivated and focused on its core values. At Schneider Tree Care, we have lots of positive memories, with our leaders, Erich, Kurt and Luther, our team members and, of course, our clients.

“Initially, the most satisfying part of being in the tree-care business was making profits and growing the organization. But over the years, I realized that raising a team is the most fun for me. Largely, we’re hiring 18 to 25-year-old men, who often don’t know what they want to do with their lives. So some stay with us long-term and some short-term. But we have the opportunity to have a profound effect on people’s lives”.Erich Schneider, CEO & Visionary, Schneider Tree Care

Schneider Tree Care started as a small business run by two brothers, Erich and Kurt Schneider. Luther Marchant joined our team in Greenville, SC, back in 1996 and has been an integral part of the business since then.

“Our goal is to make sure that we’re serving our clients well. Our team is dedicated to staying in touch with them as we take great care of their trees and shrubs. We call it Fanatical Client Service.” — Luther Marchant, Certified Sales Arborist and Vice President, Schneider Tree Care

After being in business for 26 years, we are now a team of 80+ employees, operating in multiple locations across North and South Carolina. We are so thankful for the trust our clients place in us, and we appreciate the hard work of our team members. As a company, we pride ourselves in the work we do and our ability to transform and preserve the residential and commercial landscape of the Carolinas.

“The thing I enjoy most at Schneider Tree Care is making a difference in people’s lives. As president of the company, I get to lead and grow people. And on the other side of that, with the clients that we take care of, we are actively making their landscapes healthier. We remove hazards, beautify properties, and take care of trees for years.” — Kurt Schneider, President & COO, Schneider Tree Care.

This year, one of our long-time, highly-valued employees, Chris Heatherly, retired.
Chris was an integral part of the day-to-day operations during his 18 years with our company. He will forever be part of the Schneider Tree Care family!

“I loved working at Schneider Tree Care and always enjoyed meeting new people. In addition, I got to see a lot of the country. We got to see some beautiful landscapes and houses, sometimes taking in magnificent views, 35 to 40 miles from the tops of mountains. It has been the experience of a lifetime!” — Chris Heatherly, former Equipment Operator, Schneider Tree Care.

This holiday season, we’d like to express our heartfelt gratitude to everyone in the Schneider Tree Care family for being part of another successful year.

Veterans Day is when we recognize our veterans and active duty military families for their service to our great nation. At Schneider Tree Care, this holiday carries extra meaning since two of our principals are vets themselves!

“America without her soldiers would be like God without his angels.” — Claudia Pemberton (proud member of the Military Writers Society of America, American Authors Association, …)

Today we thank veterans all across the USA as well as our in-house duo, Erich and Kurt Schneider, for their service and sacrifice. Erich and Kurt Schneider grew up in a rural community. After high school, both brothers enlisted in the U.S. Air Force to serve our country.

“I learned self-discipline because I had to get up every day and do the job assigned to me. I learned how to follow orders and submit to authority. I learned that the world was much bigger than the little town I grew up in.” — Erich Schneider, CEO & Visionary, Schneider Tree Care.

After their military service, the Schneider brothers decided to build a business together. The lessons they learned during their service helped them to develop our “Core Values”.

  • Do the Right Thing
  • Fanatical Client Service
  • Culture of Safety
  • Pursuit of Excellence
  • Team First

We live and die by these core values and they have propelled our company to new heights over the past 26 years. Schneider Tree Care is now 80 employees strong, working to “fanatically” serve our clients from our four locations and three franchise operations across South and North Carolina.

We always look forward to bringing veterans on board within our ranks whenever there is an opportunity in our hiring processes.  Veterans make great team members for many reasons, including their innate sense of discipline and the training that exudes the highest levels of work ethic.

On the occasion of Veterans Day, we truly appreciate and honor our men and women in uniform. We don’t know them all, but we owe them all. Happy Veterans Day!

Excellence is not a destination; rather a continuous journey that never ends. That’s why at Schneider Tree Care, we are always seeking to be greater than we are today. “Pursuit of Excellence” is one of our core values.

Remaining steadfast in the pursuit of excellence is our mantra. We believe that pursuing excellence helps us to provide outstanding service to our clients, exceeding expectations over and over again. With continuous elevation of our services built into our core values, we’ve grown from a small business run by two brothers to a team of 80 employees in four locations across North and South Carolina. We are still growing and  so is our passion for excellence!

According to a survey by Pew Research Center, about 36% of U.S. adults have fulfilled their American dream. The story of Schneider Tree Care is the embodiment of the American dream. Two brothers, Erich and Kurt Schneider, grew up in farm country, served in the U.S. Air Force and became successful entrepreneurs, together.  The company they built has grown into a powerhouse, providing tree and shrub care services to commercial and residential properties throughout North and South Carolina.

“I think everybody with a drive and desire to start a small business should do so. And there’s unlimited potential in this country. The environment is very friendly to businesses, but you can’t go into a business with the idea that I’m going to make a lot of money and not have to work. You have to go into a business with the idea that I’m going to serve.” – Erich Schneider, CEO & Visionary, Schneider Tree Care

Erich and Kurt Schneider were raised in a rural community in northern New York State, where they harvested trees on their property. They chopped countless cords of wood to heat the family home and their father’s engine shop.

Growing up, the brothers graduated high school and each joined the U.S. Air Force to serve their country. During their service, they learned self-discipline, how to carry out assigned tasks, how to follow orders and submit to authority. Their military training also helped them understand that the world was much bigger than the little town they grew up in.

After their military service, the Schneider brothers decided to build a business together. Since they had a close connection with trees since childhood, they decided to start their business in the tree-care industry.

“So we did this tree job, and the first one went really well. The next one went pretty well and the third went pretty well. And eventually, it came to the point where we were working six days a week, 15, 16 hours a day. And that was 26 years ago.”- Kurt Schneider

President & COO, Schneider Tree Care.

Today, after a rich legacy of 26 years and a lot of hard work, Schneider Tree Care has:

Press Release

We understand that property managers need to take care of so many things. Among them are your trees and shrubs, which need special attention to keep your property safe and attractive. The tree and shrub care company you choose should help you work within your budget and maintain your property year-round.

If you are a property manager, you have challenges. Our job is to remove those challenges. By caring for your trees and shrubs, we can help you mitigate dangers and make your property look good.” – Kurt Schneider, President and COO, Schneider Tree Care

Schneider Tree Care assists commercial property managers in planning and executing budgets year-round. At Schneider Tree Care, we can help you put a budget plan together with associated costs and take care of your property’s maintenance needs. We can be your go-to partner to see your jobs through, from start to finish.

We can also help property managers plan preventative maintenance programs for trees and shrubs for a few months or several years. Maintenance programs like pruning can be planned as required. Hazardous removals to prevent structural damage are scheduled on a priority basis. A property evaluation is performed to list high to low priority items that can be used to either build a future budget or utilize an existing budget. A preventive maintenance program can save money on storm clean-up or removal from tree failures. In addition, you can save money on tree or shrub replacement if the plants are kept healthy under our maintenance program. Trees are 100-year plants; we want to care for them well so they’re around for years and years to come!

Working on both residential and commercial properties for 25+ years, Schneider Tree Care is committed to taking care of tree and shrub health and enhancing property value and safety. Contact us to make an appointment with our certified arborists.

Trees and shrubs are essential elements of nature. They reduce air pollution and prevent soil erosion. In addition, they enhance aesthetics and property value. Being such a serene part of the landscape, they deserve some TLC.

Experts at Schneider Tree Care say that proper maintenance of trees and shrubs is crucial for their growth and health. Keeping that in mind, here are six tips to keep them healthy throughout the year:

  1. Fertilizing: Natural substances like grass and leaves provide essential nutrients to the trees in the forests. But on residential and commercial property, fertilizers work as nutritional supplements. Make sure to use a slow-release fertilizer at regular intervals to replenish nutrients in the soil.
  2. Pruning: Pruning removes any deadwood holding the trees back and improves their structure. Ensure that major pruning is done while the tree is in a dormant phase. Then, tidy up by clearing out dead and damaged branches in the summer.
  3. Nutrient Application: Everybody knows that plants need sunlight, water and quality fertilizers for sustenance. However, these must be provided in a good balance. Consult our experts to provide the right nutrients to your plants and trees. Our arborists can teach you the signs of nutrient deficiency and how to overcome them.
  4. Regular Check-Ups: Trees and shrubs can appear to be in good health only to collapse suddenly one day. Through regular check-ups you can ensure that your trees and plants do not succumb to disease. Appropriate treatment and attention to any recurring problems can increase their lifespan. Schedule regular check-ups with the experts here at Schneider Tree Care.
  5. Disease and Insect Control: Checking for disease all year round catches early signs of infestation and these can be dealt with promptly. Webworms are an issue, often noticed in the fall, as they consume leaves in one area and then move to another. Spraying insecticides or pruning sections of the affected tree or shrub is the preferred method of insect control for this issue and others.
  6. Soil Testing to Identify Problems: If you want to keep your lilac shrubs blooming, for example, then testing the soil around them is vital when you notice fewer flowers. They need a pH value between 6.5 – 7. A soil test checks if the pH value is lower than 6.5 and lime can be added to the soil to make it more alkaline. Soil testing also helps when choosing the correct fertilizer to provide an optimum balance of nutrients for your trees and shrubs.

Schneider Tree Care’s specialists provide quality care for your trees and shrubs keeping them healthy all year-round. We tailor our programs to suit your needs, so contact us to learn more.
